ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

Brighter Futures Principal Danny biscombe has had extensive experience in working with deficits such as Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). In particular, Danny has worked with many children from aged 8 years upward to help them understand the conditions and by supporting them in the development of individual tools and strategies to help offset the effects the disorders can have on their everyday lives.

The positive outcomes have been to empower individuals to take responsibility for managing their behaviour, resulting in improved self esteem and confidence, improved relationships with family, peers and teachers as well as in many cases, resulting in a considerable improvement in educational attainment. 

In many cases it has been necessary to give guidance to the parent(s)/carer(s) and teacher(s) to better equip them to support the aims and objectives of the intervention with the individual to take a holistic approach in supporting them.

Danny uses various resources to make the intervention as much fun as possible and individuals enjoy coming to sessions. As their self esteem improves, they become enthusiastic participants and often don't want to leave the session!

A small investment for a short term intervention can support and equip an individual with tools and strategies that they can use throughout their lives and pass those skills on to others.

Danny also provides training for parents, teachers and other professionals in effective tools and strategies to support individuals with deficits and manage the sometimes challenging behaviour that can be presented.
